Applications for the 2027 academic year will open on 1 August 2026 and will close on 31 August 2026
The Trustees have sole discretion to grant awards and will determine in their discretion the award amount and number of successful applicants, and the terms and conditions applying to each award. Recent awards have been in the region of $3,000 – $5,000 (per award).
What happens to your application?
The Betty Loughhead Soroptimist Scholarship (BLSS) is supported by all New Zealand clubs. Our clubs are arranged into two regions – South and North. Each region nominates three of their members to serve as trustees of the BLSS Trust for a two-year term.
Trustees review all eligible applications and then meet to moderate their assessments and agree on that year’s recipients.
